Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe (Lianyungang) Co., Ltd. was funded and built by Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., with a total area of 4.2 million square meters. Its construction was commenced on December 20, 2010 in Xuwei New District. As a pilot district of national cooperation demonstration zone among eastern, middle and western areas, Xuwei New District is located in the southeast of the urban area of Lianyungang City. It is about 35 kilometers from the downtown of Lianyungang City by land route, 107 sea miles away from Qingdao Port to the north and 383 sea miles away from Shanghai Port to the south. There are Lianyungang-Lanzhou Railway, Lianyungang-Khorgas Expressway, Nanjing-Lianyungang Expressway, Coastal Expressway, Linyi-Lianyungang Expressway, as well as Coastal Railway, Coastal High-grade Highway and Baitabu Airport under construction, five wharfs at 300,000-ton grade or below in Lianyungang City. A “two vertical and four horizontal” main line network will be formed in XuWei New District, enjoying particularly favorable natural transport conditions.

    The 3.8 million-ton high-performance steel pipe project of Chu Kong Steel Pipe (Lianyungang) Co., Ltd. include two subprojects, namely high-performance steel welded pipe and weight coating project and Kaidi Heavy Industry project. The high-performance steel welded pipe project includes 1626SAWH, COE welded pipe and weight coating production lines which have been set up and put into production, as well as many JCOE, UOE and HFW longitudinal welded steel pipe and fitting production lines under construction. 1626SAWH two-step production line employs the most advanced welding technology, namely Two Step Production Process. With such technology, the length of welded pipe can reach 18.5m, and butting welds of pipeline have been reduced. COE762 production line adopts the special pipe forming and submerged arc welding process of Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe to realize fast production speed and high surface finish of products, makes use of advanced ultrasonic weld to perform tracking and detection for on-line inspection devices, and selects natural gas as heat treatment fuel, so as to not only ensure welding quality but also save energy. Kaidi Heavy Industry project is targeted at high-end heavy machinery and high-end steel products, and forms a complete industrial chain with the production of high-efficiency steel pipe. This project highlights three-high new construction guidelines, namely “high starting point, high technology and high efficiency”, adopts the advanced, mature and applicable new process, technology, equipment and materials in this industry, and hopes to become a first-class Chinese and the world’s leading modern high-end science and technology project in equipment manufacturing industry.
